Oscar J. Ortiz
Oscar Ortiz, appointed to the Board in 2009, is a Middle School Band Director at Chariton. He is a native of Mason City, Iowa, and a graduate of Mason City H.S. Mr. Ortiz holds a B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
He served as a band director at Graettinger, Central Decatur of Leon and Webster City, and is currently in his 10th year at Chariton Middle School. Mr. Ortiz has a total of 31 years of teaching experience in public schools.
He and wife Kate have two children.
