Jason E. Glass
Jason E. Glass is Iowa Governor Terry Branstad’s nominee for State Director of Education and currently serves as the state’s Chief State School Officer.
Previously, Jason served as Senior Director of Human Capital Strategy with Battelle for Kids, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving America’s schools. In this role, he consulted with districts and states across the country in helping educators improve. Prior to joining Battelle for Kids, Jason served as the Director of Human Resources with Eagle County Schools in Colorado, a pioneer district in progressive human capital approaches and strategic compensation. Jason has also worked as Eagle County Schools’ Director of Assessment, as Vice President of Quality Ratings with Qualistar Early Learning, held several posts with the Colorado Department of Education, and worked as a university instructor and high school teacher.
Jason holds a BA in Political Science, an M.Ed. in Education, and an MA in Political Science from the University of Kentucky. He is a doctoral candidate at Seton Hall University.
Jason currently lives in Des Moines, IA with his lovely wife Sarah and their spirited Jack Russell Terrier, Ringo.
