Greg Robinson


     Dr. Greg A. Robinson has been the superintendent of the Urbandale Community School District since 2001 and a board member since 2004. Born in Iowa and raised in Illinois, Dr. Robinson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a major in Special Education/Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Science degree in School Psychology from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Iowa State University. The balance of his 28 years of professional experience, all of which has been in Iowa, includes service as a special education teacher, a school psychologist, a State Department of Education Consultant in special education, an elementary school principal, and an associate superintendent. He has served in many civic and professional organizations. Honors he has received in the last 10 years include Iowa Character Administrator of the Year Award (2006), University Council for Education Administration’s Education Leadership Award (2005), Urbandale Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year (2003), Illinois State University Department of Psychology Distinguished Alumni Award (2000), Nationally Distinguished Principal as selected by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the U. S. Department of Education (1998); and the Iowa Elementary Principal of the Year as selected by the School Administrators of Iowa (1998).
